- ASI SMEs analyze, design, develop, integrate, coordinate, and maintain Air Navigation procedures and guidance.
- SI SMEs provide liaison and support to Field, Command, and Technical Center staff as needed, provide logistical support in the capture and integration of comments during navigational modification periods.

- ASI supports Human Factors Research at the WIlliam J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey providing research document editing, technical writing, and document publication. ASI manages document and version control from initial review through various stages of revision, sponsor, and senior management review prior to release for publication.
- Provide education to new and expecting parents related to setting expectations for their newborn child, how to properly care for, prepare the home environment, and promote a positive mental health environment.
- ASI supports the Publication and Records Management Division at FAA Headquarters with ASI personnel serving as the primary technical writers responsible for the creation of several regular monthly publications and cyclical orders including Notice to Airmen (NOTAM).
- ASI personnel are responsible for preparing and finalizing redords for proper storage and filing, as well as developing and streamlining procedures governing records management.
